What is the role of the Mechanical Certification Engineer?

To ensure that new seat mechanical designs meet the strict safety requirements set out by the regulatory authorities (FAA and EASA).

To identify critical seats for test, then plan, conduct and report all of the testing required by the regulations, including dynamic (crash), occupant injury, static, abuse, cyclic and environmental tests.

Maintain continued airworthiness of the product through its life.

An engineer who can form concise and clear rational arguments to justify the qualification of each aspect of the design.

Excellent technical report writing and communication within the company and with senior figures within Boeing, Airbus, EASA and the FAA.

Someone with creativity, innovation and good knowledge of structures and strength of materials.

A candidate with good organisational and project management skills.

Suitable applicants should have a minimum 2:1 degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Automotive Engineering or similar.
