Hundreds of children in the region will be given special gifts this Christmas, from kind-hearted staff at a local aircraft interiors company.

Over 220 employees at Contour Aerospace Ltd in Cwmbran, have donated gifts worth over £2,000 to three local Christmas appeals.

Torfaen Council, Caerphilly Council and Torfaen Woman’s Aid, will receive the Christmas gifts from staff at Contour, which will be given to children who have been nominated by social workers who work with families across the region.

Jenny Taylor of Contour, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the response of Contour staff to this appeal – over 220 have kindly donated one or a number of gifts and toys, including scooters, dolls and games.

“We hope these gifts will help to make Christmas enjoyable for as many local children as possible.”

As one of the largest private sector employers in the area, Contour has arranged a Christmas gift appeal for local causes for the last six years, donating gifts to hundreds of children in South Wales.

One of the appeals organised by Torfaen Council aims to support hundreds of children and young people across the county.

The executive member for health, social care, well-being and equalities, councillor Cynthia Beynon MBE, said: “We are extremely grateful for the donation from Contour and we would like to thank them for the wonderful gifts on behalf of our children.

“Some young people are completely alone and even a small gift will go a long way towards making their Christmas."
